
STM Interviewing Solution: Complete and Thorough
The more you do something, the better you get at doing it. When you work with STM, you can be assured that we will do our homework for every job interview. That homework starts with a position benchmark that drives the entire process, and usually includes several interview levels:

Prescreening interview. Typically this is a prescreening video call to determine if the candidate should be individually assessed. Each candidate is interviewed based on core competencies established by the position benchmark, if they get by this hurdle we will offer them an individual assessment to confirm they are worth an investment of a face-to-face interview.

Face-to-Face interview. This interview determines the candidate’s mastery of all job requirements and expectations. The STM process builds on the assessment to validate both areas of strength and weakness, capabilities "on their feet" and under stress, communication, detail management, leadership and management capabilities as required. An above average to excellent result will confirm the candidate is a finalist for the position. In this way we assure that we are considering top performers, not merely the best of a random group.

Second Interview. At the second interview, we seek to determine if the finalist(s) should be hired. By this time there is a wealth of information about the candidate(s) both from traditional sources (resume, interview results, reference checks) and the assessment process (position benchmarking, individual assessment, and expert interpretation). All the information is marshalled to assure every question and concern has been addressed. This step will determine who will be offered a position, if anyone.
Of course we perform detailed background and reference checks, which may result in tailored questions during the interview process - especially when there are conflicting statements between the applicant and the reference.
